Managing Director at Astia Angels

Angela combines over 15 years of experience in corporate finance and international business development, investment banking, and fundraising advisory to entrepreneurial teams, with her passion for gender equality. Since 2019, Angela has supported Astia Angels expansion to Norway and in 2020 founded WIN Women Investment Network, to reduce financial inequality between the genders by empowering women to learn to invest and to become angel investors.

In 2017 Angela founded Sixer, a consultancy that helps Nordic companies expand to international markets. As a gender equality advocate, she also serves as a Board Member of PWN Norway (Professional Women Network) and has previously served on several advisory boards of women-led companies.

Angela holds a Master’s in International Business from Florida International University and a BA in Finance from Universidad Externado de Colombia.

While being a consultant in internationalization strategy, Angela facilitated the entry of Nordic companies into the North and Latin American markets. Her previous engagement was as part of the team taking National Geographic and Fox TV channels to the Nordics after 2011. Before that, in her position of Finance Manager for the School of Computer Science at Florida International University, Angela helped to develop the University's Technology Transfer Office, helped develop the commercialization strategy of several research projects that became tech-startups, and strengthen the relationship with donors and sponsors such as NASA, IBM and Hewlett Packard. Angela’s experience before that relates to investment banking and financial advisory in Citibank and subsidiaries.
